Trail center Thusis
The Trailcentre Thusis is the first of its kind in Graubünden. The practice area is ideal for honing your own bike technique: it offers various signposted routes with obstacles, a pump line or a rock garden with stone passages and steps.
The first trailcentre in Graubünden is located next to the outdoor swimming pool in the Thusis forest. On an area of some 15,000 m2 , around 1.7 km of single trail with various obstacles and a practice area provide the perfect introduction to mountain biking. Before setting off, you can get an overview of the various trails and areas of the centre in the spacious entrance area.
The main loop leads directly to the individual skills loops. Stone passages and steps can be practised in the rock garden. First experiences in the air can be gained on the jump line. The skinny line trains balance, and on the sep line you can learn to ride steps in both directions. There's also plenty of opportunity to make turns on the switchback line. The kids loop can be ridden by children with at least 20-inch wheels.
All elements are marked with a colour for their level of difficulty:
- Green: usable from a 12-inch wheel, with first bike experience.
- Blue: suitable for beginners with little experience on a mountain bike.
- Red: off-road experience necessary.
- Black: for all those who master the red elements without problems and safely.
- Purple: for very experienced mountain bikers.
The trailcenter aims to teach children as well as adults better skills on the bike and thus indirectly increase road safety. A barbecue area with seating is available for rest breaks.
