The museum is housed in the former military warehouse adjacent to the Roman amphitheatre. It is home to an array of artefacts and documents that tell the story of the Great St. Bernard Hospice and Pass. The legendary St. Bernard dogs form an integral part of the place.
Using state-of-the-art and playful museography, the exhibition is dedicated to highlighting this legacy and promoting the famous St. Bernard dog as a universal icon. One floor is reserved for temporary exhibitions.
The area reserved for the St. Bernard dogs is linked to an outdoor enclosure in a wooded park where the dogs can romp about and be watched by the public.
