Family tour Sihlwald

From Sihlwald, where fox and rabbit come face to face - or can be observed at the wildlife park, to the Zurich business metropolis having wound your way along the many bends in the Sihl.
Starting in the wilderness, or close to the Wildnispark Zürich Sihlwald to be more exact, on looking in at the visitors’ center you can gather information to make the most of your visit. And those who want to be sure of spotting some wild animals should make their way to the other side of the Langnau am Albis village to the so-called Wildnispark Langenberg.

Further downstream the River Sihl snakes its way along while depositing countless flat stones on the gravel banks … and yes, you guessed it, kids of all ages love launching these over the surface of the water! After Leimbach, the idyllic Sihl then meets with the concrete mass of the Uetliberg tunnel.

From here the picture changes to that of city life with shopping and sports facilities as the route continues towards the neighbourhood of Enge. There is lots to see in Zurich - and don’t miss out on a visit to the bustling old town to see living history and culture along with numerous luxury brands and clubs. However, arriving at the main station at the midst of the largest city in Switzerland is surprisingly easy and stress free.

km2.4 - km4.3
The route runs through the country on both natural and asphalted stretches. Close to the bridge by the Sihltal rail stop you find an information board on fish and crustaceans in the Sihltal waters.
Detour to the Langenberg animal park
In natural habitats, native and once native animals are at home in the Langenberg animal park - presenting exciting chance encounters for both man and beast! Of particular interest here are bears, wolves, lynx, wildcats, beavers and fish otters. However, you must leave your bike at the back entrance of the wildlife facility (Höfli) and cover the 1.5 km stretch to the animal park on foot. Alternatively, already by the Sihl bridge in Langnau a. A. you can turn off and make your way down the usual access road.
