Inn-Radweg
Maloja–Martina
A route through a unique landscape alongside the rushing waters of the Inn: impressive Engadine houses with filigree decoration, crystal-clear lakes, a varied terraced landscape, a paradise for rare birds, exclusive St. Moritz, snow-covered mountain summits.
Encircled by imposing snow-covered summits, cycling along a string of pearls - the crystal-clear Upper Engadine lakes - to St.Moritz, rendezvous of the rich and beautiful. However, your route follows the beauty of the landscape: spotted nutcrackers (birds) in the Stazer forest, alongside the cold, rushing waters of the Inn and clear, fresh air. Engadine gourmet delights in every village.
After the traffic junction of Samedan, La Punt-Chamues-ch with its impressive patrician houses. Villages of sturdy houses on the edge of the wide plain tell tales of harsh winters. An up and down along the edge of the Swiss National Park, founded in 1914 as Central Europe’s first nature park. The grandiose natural world of the Engadine, as peaceful as the beat of an eagle’s wing.
From Zernez the valley becomes narrower and the Inn wilder. After an energetic ascent, the picturesque village of Guarda and the varied terraced landscape of the Lower Engadine. In Scuol the smell of mineral springs in the metallic taste of water from the fountain, the thermal spa soothes weary muscles. Charming little villages on the sunny terrace above the dry valley are signs of earlier settlements. After Martina, the Inn thunders through a gorge before it escapes into the Tyrol at the eerie Finstermünz fortress bridge.
