Loipe Wildhaus
Wildhaus–Wildhaus
The Wildhaus trail is an easy option, leading over flat to slightly hilly marshland. Affording views of the Churfirsten and Wildhaus Schafberg, it winds its way across the plain and past the ski jump where Olympic champion Simon Ammann once learned to fly.
The upper Toggenburg resort of Wildhaus lies nestled between the Säntis massif and the seven peaks of the Churfirsten. Due to its altitude at over 1,000 metres, the trail gets plenty of snowfall. It is located in the Munzenriet area, between Kollersweid and the Wildhaus ski school's "Kinderland" (kids' centre).
The route winds its way through delightful countryside and across flat marshland, making it equally suited for beginners and advanced skiers. Enjoy cross-country skiing at its finest, with magnificent views of the Wildhaus Schafberg and Churfirsten. The trail leads past the Kollersweid ski jump, where 4-time Olympic champion Simon Ammann learned his trade.
In addition to the described main trail, there's a dog-friendly 2-kilometre loop where dogs are allowed to run along. Free parking is available right next to the start of the track. And for those looking to relax and have a bite at the end of the cross-country circuit, there are several restaurants only a 5-minute walk away.
