Scherb/Bendel-Loipe

An educational pleasure: the panoramic trail on Scherb/Bendel between Hemberg and Ebnat-Kappel leads past various viewpoints. Eight theme charts describe the panorama and make the hillier trails to a special experience.
Training during cross-country skiing not only the fitness, but enjoying at the same time also the view and exciting background information? This is possible on the about five kilometres panoramic trail in Scherb/Bendel between Hemberg and Ebnat-Kappel. On eight boards the unique views to Churfirsten, Alpstein, Neckertal, Chrüzegg, Stockberg, Speer und into the direction of Lake Zurich are described in detail with historical, geographical and further information. Additionally all boards offer a children’s tale. The tale of “Heinzelmännchen Speerli” is consecutively written over all eight boards.

The route starts at Scherbhütte and leads along the mentioned viewpoints to Salomonstempel. On this hill the cross-country skiers enjoy the wonderful panorama of Alpstein with Säntis. Through forest passages and clearings the trail leads back to the viewpoint at Scherbhütte.

Before the incline to Salomonstempel a shortcut can be taken, which shortens the trail length to 3.5 kilometres. On top an additional classical trail leads down into the village Hemberg. This trail is in total 17 kilometres long.
