Panoramaloipe Alp Sellamatt

The cross-country skiing trail at Alp Sellamatt offers a lot of sun and a mystical natural landscape in the lap of the Churfirsten. The view goes far down into the lowland, which lies in winter often under a fog cover.
The cross-country skiing trail leads over Alp Sellamatt. The high plateau is in front of the Churfirsten halfway between valley and summit. Numerous caves, in which once the legendary Wildmannli hid, streak the rough karst landscape.

Under the winterly snow cover the Alpine meadows present from their soft sides lined with spruces. Tranquillity and untouched nature characterise the landscape.

At the namesake Thurtalerstofel the highest point of the trail is reached before it is going back down again. From there a marvellous view to Alpstein, Churfirsten and Toggenburg can be enjoyed. The view reaches far down into the lowland, which is in winter often hid below a sea of fog, while on Alp Sellamatt the sun is shining.

Thurtalerstofel is the highest trail in Toggenburg and accordingly offers guaranteed snow. With the gondola from Alt St. Johann the starting and finish point is reached on Alp Sellamatt. There is also a mountain restaurant, which offers refreshments after a cross-country skiing round.
