Hinterstock-Loipe
Amden, Arvenbüel–Amden, Arvenbüel
This classic variation of the Arventritt is called the Hinterstock. And its ancient name means what it promises!
The cross-country ski area of Arventritt is on the terrace of Amden-Arvenbüel high above Walensee. Amden's own Mattstock mountain and the prominent Leistkamm are always in view.
The «Hinterstock» loop runs through hilly terrain from Arvenbüel to the Hinterstock, along the edge of the high plateau. The landscape, home to various wild animals, has a primeval quality. Silent forests and small mountain streams characterise the scene. The Seerenbach, which we will be crossing, falls a little farther on into three cascades over the vertically descending cliff edge. Together they constitute the third-highest waterfall in Switzerland.
Athletic skiers will also be able to enjoy their time on this versatile cross-country ski trail – and thanks to the varied wooded landscape, there is always a chance to cool down. The Hinterstock cross-country ski trail is the more athletic of the two Arventritt loops, and can be best combined with the second, Chapf cross-country ski trail.
