Piste des Mille Sapins
Les Breuleux, Les Envers–Les Breuleux, Les Envers
Similar to a slalom course through a pine tree labyrinth, the Mille Sapins piste is good fun and very challenging at the same time. A rugged site in an exceptional pastured woodland, it is undoubtedly the most beautiful site in the whole Franches-Montagnes district.
The Mille Sapins piste can be accessed from the village of Les Breuleux, a charming village typical of the Jura canton, which you can also reach by train. Located at the foot of Mont Crosin, as you follow the route you can see the wind turbines of the largest wind farm in Switzerland. The village of Les Breuleux also has a small alpine ski resort. This is a place that families really love. When the facilities are running, there's a snack bar at the ski lift where you can enjoy a well-deserved break in a friendly place. The piste can also be accessed from the Les Breuleux ski lift.
The circuit weaves through the middle of pastured woodland that seems to have been custom made for the job. Nevertheless, a strong physical condition and good technical ability are required as the trail is interspersed with small hills, descents and bends. The piste is full of unexpected twists and this makes it a good test if you want to assess your current level of fitness. From the Mille Sapins piste, you can also join other marked-out routes.
