Swiss Hiking Trail Federation and the label Hiking in Switzerland

The Swiss Hiking Trail Federation is member of SwitzerlandMobility, coordinating the quality control and improvement of the label Hiking in Switzerland.

Switzerland’s most beautiful natural landscapes are connected by 65 000 kilometres of well-maintained hiking trails. This unique global feature is one of the great successes of the Swiss Hiking Trail Federation and its 26 cantonal hiking trail organisations. Ever since 1934, the organisations have been working to implement an attractive, safe and standardised network of hiking trails across Switzerland and in the Principality of Liechtenstein. They promote hiking as an adventure-packed leisure activity in nature. They also represent the interests of hikers at a political level.
